Experience
Field Service Engineer - Becton Dickinson
2021 - Present
At BD I am responsible for leading customer facing projects from start to finish while serving as the main point of contact for each customer. I have lead over a hundred projects all over the country, each with their own goals, challenges, and surprises.
Some key points of expertise for this role:
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Each project includes performing sensitive tasks on hundreds of devices.
- Recording and documenting the results from each task for each device correctly and efficiently is key.
- Ability to train others
- I am often supplied with “local technicians” who may or may not know how to perform the required tasks.
- It’s my job as the lead to train them on the required tasks and double check correct documentation of all tests each day.
- Ability to lead a team
- As a lead on site- I’m responsible for managing a small team of people in order to complete the task at hand.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision
- When leading projects all over the country, my boss isn’t always watching me work.
- I have the fortitude and drive to complete the task at hand without the “threat” of supervision.
- Administrative Autonomy
- For each project I am responsible for booking my own travel accommodations, and keeping record of all business transactions for expense reporting.
- A healthy goldilocks zone between Flexibility and Concrete schedules
- Projects can be rescheduled, cancelled, extended, shortened, and more.
- Each project has it’s own challenges and surprises.
- It’s important to possess the ability to flex when needed without affecting a concrete deadline.
